Brisbane music distribution and promotion company Musicadium will be running their inaugural White Noise workshops this month for artists of all talents and experience.

The workshops will be held at the new government funded space called The Edge which is nestled in next to the State Library and offers its patrons a spectacular view of the River City to help inspire them as they put their creative minds to work.

The White Noise workshops are an initiative to help the budding Brisbane music scene along. Each session will run for three days and the topics range from songwriting, marketing and management as well as the chance for artists to spend valuable time in a recording studio. Professionals from the local industry will be conducting each session and there is a DIY day where the artists can choose a particular area to focus their attentions on.

Musicadium Promotions and Development Manager Tim Price said the program could lead artists to the big break they’re looking for. “The music industry is at a real tipping point at the moment. With the information they are given, these artists will get the chance to be at the forefront of the industry as we head into a new decade.”

The week-long event will culminate in a showcase to be held in The Edge’s auditorium. Three of the bands from the workshops will be selected to perform and the showcase will be an all-ages free event.

White Noise will run from Monday 15 – Saturday 20 March with the showcase to be held on Saturday 20 March.
