While Golden Plains may spark a mass indie-exodus this long-weekend, those left behind are still in for some music goodness with Melbourne’s Moomba Rhythms Festival.

Taking place this Friday right through to Monday, Moomba offers an impressive line-up of local and international performers as well as a bunch of colourful stuff and things on floats.

Claire Bowditch and Melbourne-based funk/hip-hoppers The Megahorns will take to the Main Stage in the Alexandra Gardens on Friday night, while Diafrix and True Live should keep things moving the following day. After partying like it’s 2001 with Vanessa Amorosi on Saturday night, you can catch Bertie Blackman and Paul Dempsey on Sunday before rounding the weekend off with Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Dan Sultan and national-icon come plagiarist Colin Hay on Monday.

Entry is free, with the full line-up, maps and more details available at the That’s Melbourne website.
