With the 2010 Brisbane Sounds event set to take place this Saturday, organisers have recently announced that the official after party will take place at The Troubadour with Brisbane three-piece The Smokestack Orchestra confirmed for a 1am set. Tickets for the afterparty are set for $5 from the door after midnight.
Brisbane Sounds, the annual music showcase event, will feature performances from six Brisbane artists including The Gin Club, The Cairos, Grand Atlantic, The Coalition Crew, Lion Island and Dirtybird will kick off at The Zoo at 7.30pm.
As an added bonus, organisers have advised that those who attend the event will receive both a free refreshing beverage from a selection of either Ginger Beer, Sarsaparilla or Lemon Lime & Bitters, and a free bandtag featuring fifteen tracks from Brisbane bands.
Each band on the bill will perform a cover song of another Brisbane artist, with local tunes and a photographic display of the Brisbane music scene from Underexposed being presented in between sets.
Like previous years, the event will be producing its annual compilation CD of Brisbane music in an effort to highlight music artists and the music scene within Brisbane.
Doors open at 7.30pm with tickets costing $18 plus booking fees through OZTIX. Tickets will also be available at the door for $20.
