Gersey headline tour
Wed 17th Feb, 2010 in Local News
On the road to support Pavement, Melbourne indie rock band Gersey have announced their own headline gigs.
Gersey’s connections to Pavement goes back almost a decade. They played their first US shows with Pavement’s Spiral Stairs’ and his band Preston School of Industry in 2001 and more recently, members of Gersey have performed with Spiral Stairs on his solo album and as his touring band.
Formed in 1997, Gersey built up a fanatically loyal fan base playing festivals around the country including Big Day Out, Laneway Festival, Falls Festival and Pyramid Rock; and supported such luminaries as The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Mogwai and Mercury Rev.
After the tour the band will return to the studio to begin work on their fourth album – a follow up to Hope Springs (2000), Storms Dressed As Stars (2002) and No Satellites (2006).
