The world of professional music photography can at times prove as confusing as it is exhilarating, especially when you are new to the game. So who better to steer you in the right direction than two of this country’s best live music shooters and the Art Director of Rolling Stone.

This Friday 19th at the ACP renowned music photographers Tony Mott and Dan Boud will be joined by Joe Ferrara from Rolling Stone as they head up a discussion panel about rock photography in Australia.

The event which runs from 6 – 8pm will kick off with a 30 minute presentation from Mott (sure to be equal parts inspiring and hilarious), and will then open up for a panel discussion chaired by Tali Udovich from the Blender Gallery.

Some of the topics to be discussed are: how to get started, how to get your work published, when should you expect to get paid, how much should you charge for an image, along with technical advise and what makes a great image.

If there is anything else that you would like to hear discussed, Dan Boud is fielding topics on his blog boudist.com. If you have any interest in the world of music photography this event is not to be missed.

The event Rock Photography is taking place at the Australian Centre for Photography, 257 Oxford Street Paddington, Friday 19th February from 6-8pm. $10 for ACP members or $20 for non-members.
