Cherry Bar has obtained a special licence for its AC/DC pre-show festivities and will open early for those about to rock on down to Etihad Stadium for the highly anticipated AC/DC shows.

Entry is free but space is limited to just 200 Acca Dacca fans.

Ben Couzens, guitarist for local rockers Mammoth Mammoth, and James Young, co-owner of Cherry Bar, have pasted up a huge poster display in the laneway in tribute to AC/DC.

‘’It starts at the bottom of the lane, with original singer [Dave Evans] in spandex, and then into Bon Scott, with all of its drummers and album covers,’’ Couzens told The Age.

‘’We’ll keep it up until February 19 – the 30th anniversary of Bon Scott’s death. We hope people respect it and don’t touch it until then.’’ One poster in the lane carries the blunt message “If you paste over these posters before February nineteen Bon will come to you in your sleep and punch you in the face.”

‘’Cherry plans to bring AC/DC to life in AC/DC Lane through AC/DC-inspired art and music,’’ said the bar’s co-owner James Young. ‘’It will be a one-off experience unique to Melbourne, the rock capital of the world.’‘
