Friendly Fires cancel GoodVibrations

Citing an unexpected ‘family emergency’, UK indie-dance noisemakers Friendly Fires have been forced to cancel their appearance at this year’s touring Good Vibrations festival, which is set to kick off in just under 48 hours time.

Taking to their Facebook page to break the news, the band addressed their Australian fans, apologising for their sudden withdrawal from the festival.

“Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Australia because of a family emergency within the band,” Friendly Fires wrote in the message. “Heartfelt apologies to anyone who was looking forward to our shows, we hope we’ll have the chance to come and play for you all very soon.”

Jam Music, the crew behind the Good Vibes festival, will issue a statement to festival-goers about the cancellation of Friendly Fires later today, so click back to FL for more updates soon.

Really? Did The Killers, Basement Jaxx, Gossip, Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi and Gym Class Heroes all pull out? THAT would make it 100% worse. Friendly Fires pulling out makes it about 7% worse.

At any other festival I'd agree with you, but its a very dj orientated lineup, so at least it doesn't look out of place. I hear they're actually pretty good too.

Yea I have heard they put on a decent dj set. I'd go along to see a dj set if it were advertised (and didn't cost too much).

But it's a massive disappointment if you were expecting to see them play live.

Refunds are being offered to fans who purchased tickets for The Killers' Sydney concert, while festival ticket-holders in Sydney and Perth have until 5pm Friday February 12 to contact organisers for a refund.

They are asked to email thekillers@jammusic.com.au with their ticket purchase details - ticket ID, email address and full name on ticket.
