The St Kilda Festival will sizzle on February 14 with a lineup of stand-out acts playing for free including You Am I, Washington, Katie Noonan and The Captains, Mark Seymour, Archie Roach, The Bamboos feat Kylie Auldist, The Good China, Melodics, Jonathan Boulet and Yacht Club DJs.
The first nominee for the prestigious Amp (The Australian Music Prize) , Urthboy, will also perform, with the complete Amp 2009 shortlist will be announced onstage prior to his set. The 2007 winners of The Amp, The Mess Hall [pictured], are playing directly before the shortlist announcement.
The Espy is also getting into the spirit of things to celebrate this years St Kilda Festival with a three room extravaganza of local tunes to see you through eve. Electro house locals Miami Horror bring their pop goodness to the front bar joined by Brain Children DJs, Neon Love, Heavy Mental and Mu-Gen.
The 2009 St Kilda Festival attracted more than 250,000 people over seven days, making it one of the largest outdoor celebrations in Australia.
