My Chemical Romance has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Soundwave 2010 tour, with frontman Gerard Way suffering from severe vocal difficulties. The man is on doctor’s orders to allow his voice to recover, meaning no more shows for a while.

While it’s certainly a blow for the band’s many Australian fans, the last-minute cancellation comes with a silver lining. Pop-punk veterans Jimmy Eat World (the “number 1 most-requested band by Soundwave fans”) now join the bill.

Jimmy Eat World also jump on board the already-valued-packed Sidewaves of Glassjaw, Sunny Day Real Estate, Motion City Soundtrack and RX Bandits.

Plus, when you put them up against JEW, they've really got nothing.

1) How long ago the Soundwave organisers were informed MCR wouldn't be playing.
2) How many dump trucks full of cash they drove up to the recording studio that JEW were hanging out in.

Well think of all the money MCR would of been getting. Because of the urgency of the situation JEW probably got offered alot more than what they would normally earn for something like this.
