February residencies

Eagle and the Worm, World’s End Press, The Wolfgramm Sisters and Ned Collette and Wirewalker all take up residencies across Melbourne this February.

Tuesday nights in February at the Birmingham see Jarrad Brown (Your Animal, Custom Kings, Joe Neptune) presents his nine piece super show – Eagle and the Worm [pictured]. They’re joined on the residency by a series of supports – the lofi fuzz rock of Big Scary; the synthesizers, big hair and drum machines of Bewilderbeast; the spandex and flying V guitars of Heavy Mental and party starters Keith! Party.

Cherry Bar has a free Wednesday night slot for Monay For Rope and Ding Dong boasts a Thursday residency from confusingly title locals Me. The Grace Darling Hotel on Smith St also has a residency alternating headlines as The Process and Sailors & Swine trade sets every Thursday night in February.

Over at the Northcote Social Club The Wolfgramm Sisters, who have scored the Tom Jones support and a place on the Apollo Bay Line up, also have a Tuesday residency with guests each week.

The Edinburgh Castle in Brunswick hosts a Thursday residency, with Ned Collette and Wirewalker. Their shows will feature two sets of music covering the latest album, some new material (to be released as an EP late Feb), re-workings of old stuff and the odd cover.

World’s End Press are also busy on Thursdays with four wild weeks of shows at the Worker’s Club. They’re joined by their favorite local groups including Flying Scribble, QUA, Darren Sylvester, Magic Silver White and Jared David.
