With only a handful of tickets left for their second and final January 25th Billboard show, The Decemberists’ Colin Meloy has added a late minute solo show in the intimate surrounds off Melbourne’s Toff.
Here on their debut Australian tour as part of this year’s Big Day Out line-up, The Decemberists have released five albums and are much loved for their upbeat pop songs, instrumentally lush ballads and storytelling approach to song-writing.
Leadman Meloy is no stranger to solo performances, having completed numerous US solo tours over the past five years. These performances were documented in an album Colin Meloy Sings Live! that was released in 2008. He has also released three solo EPs, each covering songs of his favourite artists: Morrissey, Shirley Collins and Sam Cooke.
