Massive Attack tour announced

After a string of hints, the long-anticipated return of Massive Attack has now been confirmed. Fans will no doubt rejoice at news that the Bristol trip-hop trailblazers have chosen some special venues for the March 2010 headline shows.

This tour follows the release of Massive Attack’s new studio album, Heligoland, on 5 February. To recreate its songs live – as well as the countless classics further back in their repertoire – the touring band consists of main men 3D and Daddy G, vocalists Horace Andy, Deborah Miller and Martina Topley-Bird, plus band members Damon Reece (drums), Angelo Bruschini (guitar), John Baggott (keyboards), Winston Blissett (bass) and Julien Brown (drums).

See Massive Attack in all their glory at these venues in March. Tickets on sale Friday 5 February.

Friday March 12 – Perth Kings Park
Monday March 15 – Sydney Opera House Forecourt
Friday March 19 – Canberra Royal Theatre
Saturday March 20 – Melbourne Sidney Myer Music Bowl
Sunday March 21 – Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Tuesday March 23 – Brisbane Riverstage

Awesome - and with Martina support!

Just one question - anyone wanna trade Pixies tickets for the 20th so I can go to Massive Attack as well?

Opera House Forecourt! That's so classy. Definitely considering attendance.

JackT

JackT said on the 21st Jan, 2010

Forecourt was amazing for Bjork. Although it's a bit unforgiving for shorter people, not many sight-lines. That's why Brisbane Riverstage would be cool.

I was a first-timer at the Riverstage for Sunset Sounds, but at the foot of the hill in front of left speaker was a true sweet spot. Sound was fantastic for Moby and YYYs, much better than I expected.

thats massive attack out of the way. now just need to see portishead, faithless and royksopp one last time each and i think im nearly done with electronic music.

im sure that will change in the future at some point, but im slowly crossing off the last of my must see lists.

humanracin

humanracin said on the 22nd Jan, 2010

Had been listening to alot of blues and alt country last year, but seems like this year is a good year to get back into electronic music...
With Orbital and Massive both touring, a trip from Portishead would be icing on the cake!
