Currently on the Australian Big Day Out circuit, headline act Muse surprised fans by deciding not to play any side shows this time around.

But Matt Bellamy and Dom Howard told triple j this afternoon that they intend to return to tour Australia again “later in the year, hopefully November-December time”.

“That’s why we didn’t do any sideshows. Because we were going to do sideshows, usually bands do sideshows, but we thought we’d rather save it and come back and do a full tour of our own later in the year. The set we’re going to bring back, and the set we’re just using in Europe is a really cool set, so we’re looking forward to that.”

I wouldn't be surprised if they played a couple of stadiums when they are here next. They sold out the Ent Cent very quickly last time. Supreme Court Gardens was perfect for them in Perth last time.. I hope they go there again.. I hope they come to perth!

quit your bitchin about them touring every 2 years when they release a new album. I'm sick of all the Australian bands touring every 3 weeks.

I think it's actually pretty good that they're not playing any BDO sideshows but have instead chosen to come out and do a separate tour. I am sure there will be a whole lot of people from Adelaide, Perth, and potentially Brisbane who won't be complaining about not getting a sideshow which would be happening if this was Muse's only tour this year.

I'm sick of all the Australian bands touring every 3 weeks. Ahh, quit your bitching, I'm sick of the Brisbane bands touring every 10 minutes. I can't get Yves Klein Blue to STOP playing my lounge room...
