zxspecky team up with neo-Burlesque girls for night of song and dance.
Perth’s loveable proponents of high speed distorto-pop, zxspecky return to The Castle for Varitease II this Friday January 15.
Varietease 2 combines the talents of local punk rock acts with local neo burlesque dance artists, including Iskra Valentine, Roxy Peroxide, Sugar Jones and Siouxie Liquer. Joining them will be Minute 36, Montage Of Jesus and Aargh! Bats!
zxspecky guitarist Benny Mayhem claims that the gig is perfect for zxspecky: “The Specky have always made it well known that we’re a fan of the ladies and all they stand for. It’ll be great to share the stage with some of Perth’s up’n’coming talent in a genre of art that we don’t always get to see. I think it’s gonna be a top-notch night of entertainment for all!”
This will be the first performance in some time for the elusive yet prodigious zxspecky, who have recently been hiding out in Max Ducker’s Cellar Sessions recording studio, speedily recording their umpteenth slab of loud pop punk between extended bouts of binge drinking.
Varietease 2 kicks off at 8pm. Tickets are available at the door for $10.
