Boy do these Sidewaves just keep on coming! Following on from the announcement Meshuggah will be heading up a brutal triple bill at two gigs this February, comes the news that Taking Back Sunday and Enter Shikari will be going back to back at their own Sidewave next month.

Forming in 1999, Taking Back Sunday has been at the forefront of the screamo set for the last decade and has just released its fourth studio album New Again to rave reviews the world over.

The lads from Enter Shikari fast grabbed music fans’ attention back in 2003 with their alternative take on the Metalcore genre. If you are yet to experience the insanity that is an Enter Shikari gig, then this is the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with the awesome power of these post-hardcore upstarts.

FasterLouder presents Taking Back Sunday and Enter Shikari:

Tuesday 23 February – Billboard The Venue, Melbourne (18+)
Thursday 25 February – The Metro, Sydney (Licensed All Ages)

how does one get a message to the peeps behind Soundwave? they need to know that there are other people in cities in Australia beyond sydney and Melbourne who would like to see these gigs.
Enter Shikari are one of the best on the SW lineup and unfortunately clash with FNM.
Come on, give us all a chance to see our fave bands.

Enter Shikari are awful.

Also, most national festivals only have time for a couple of sideshows. They are almost always going to be in the biggest cities.

I don't see what the big deal about ES is. And yes the bands don't have time to play a sideshow in Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. Though Perth did get a Get Up Kids sideshow. I wonder if I should just go along to the Sydney sidewave with MCR. $85 on a ticket which I haven't been able to sell.

Also, screamo is far better than TBS. Mmm Saetia.

They were pretty awful when I saw them at BDO a few years back, They should be something I like but I was standing feeling pretty unimpressed until they started making kate nash jokes and dancing around, then I only really enjoyed it for the comedy factor.

however... to give them credit, they have got a hell of a lot better since then, and they are pretty huge in the UK right now

hahaha tbs are not screamo and enter shikari are not metalcore. but i'd love to go to this show, even though i'll see both at soundwave. if only brisbane got one here too.

BDO was my first and last exposure to Enter Shikari.

i guess i'm in the minority again...as ES @ goldie BDO was amazing. not many bands get me running around like a 19 year old these days and i was in it! also their 'we are the grass roots resistance' stance is right were i am today.

I dunno, I had great fun at their set last time. I can only imagine they've gotten better.

Have you seen that video of the en-masse crowdsurf at a festival they played? I think it was Leeds.

Doesn't matter if they're good live. I've seen Avenged Sevenfold live and though they put on a good show they're still a shit band. Same deal with Story of the Year.

I did manage to sell both my tickets, so thereee. Not everyone wants to sell through ebay. I'm no scalper.

That said, I'm going to this show. First 3 TBS albums were great. And Davo I knew you back when you liked them, or at least you liked Adam.

New Again only gets played when I am so fucking bored on the train, usually when just past Austinmer.

I don't know if I want to go to the TBS sidewave now. I'll see them at Soundwave and the next night after the sidewave is You Am I at UOW. Exhaustion and YAI gigs to not go well together as I found out last year.

Well today I learned that Society knows fuck all. Honestly buying tickets from there is painful.
The guy told me that I should just buy a ticket to Soundwave then see what stage TBS were on. I was inquiring about TBS sidewave tickets. Jesus Christ, how stupid would I be to not know how to find a band at a festival?

During all that I text Lachlan to find out tickets aren't even on sale yet. So I get to repeat all that on friday.

i didn't go to death cab for cutie in perth as i left the flights too late pal and this is the only get up kids headline show, thus more on a wire is expected.
