Prolific rock photographer Sophie Howarth has been in the pit throughout Big Day Out’s history. This month, Howarth and fellow BDO vet Tony Mott have dug into the archives to stage the - œBig Day Out Retrospective’ at the MART Gallery in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

Together the pair has captured countless iconic moments from the travelling festival. Howarth was kind enough to share some of her favourite Big Day Out shots (and stories) with FasterLouder as a primer for the exhibition.
