Visiting Australia for the first time in summer as headliner of Laneway Festival, indie icon Daniel Johnston has confirmed a pair of sideshows. Fans in Sydney and Melbourne will be treated to a rare audience with one of music’s singular talents.

In 2009 Johnston released his first studio album in several years, Is and Always Was, which stands us another triumph in a lengthy back catalogue. At these February shows, the man will play both solo and with a full band behind him. Our own Old Man River has been handpicked by Johnston as backing band on this tour. Expect a special feeling in the air.
