The winners of the 2009 J Awards were announced at an event broadcast live from Sydney’s Vanguard on Friday afternoon, and we are very pleased to report that Sarah Blasko took home ‘Australian Album of the Year’ for her beautiful LP As Day Follows Night. Blasko’s win is a refreshing change of pace from years past, which have seen the award dominated by the likes of Wolfmother and the Hilltop Hoods.

The award for ‘Video of the Year’ was won by Alex Roberts, the Director of Art Vs Science’s ode to Marcel Marceau Parlez Vous Francais. Whilst Townsville troubadours The Middle East deservedly took out ‘Unearthered Artist of the Year.’
