Dirty Projectors sideshows

The Dirty Projectors, touring in March for The Lost Weekend and Golden Plains festivals, have added a few sideshows to their inaugural tour.

Since 2003 David Longstreth’s ever-developing Dirty Projectors project has featured an evolving cast of collaborators and a multitude of sounds which has seen the release of a concept album about Eagles frontman Don Henley, an album reinterpreting songs from Black Flag’s classic Damaged album and 2009 album of the year contender, Bitte Orca.

The latest record from the Brooklyn based critical favourites, sees singers Amber Coffman and Angel Deradoorian taking lead vocals and the addition of bassist Nat Baldwin and vocalist Haley Dekle to the fold resulting in Dirty Projectors’ first fully collaborative record.

Dirty Projectors are probably the only band in the world that could attract the praise of Bjork, The Roots, David Byrne and inspire pop star Solange Knowles (yes, Beyoncé’s little sis) to record a cover of their single Stillness is the Move.

Dirty Projectors’ debut Australian tour.

Tuesday 9 March – The Hi Fi, Melbourne
Wednesday 10 March – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 13 March – The Rosemount, Perth
