Jack Johnson to headlineBluesfest

Today, it was announced that the bubbly-toed Jack Johnson will be headlining Bluesfest 2010. With the festival in its 21st year, there couldn’t be a more fitting candidate to headline.

“Jack completely embodies the spirit of Bluesfest with his ethos and commitment to great music, sustainable living, peaceful mindedness, and cultural respect,” says the festival’s director, Pete Noble.

Bluesfest marks Johnson’s first appearance since 2008, and it will be extra exclusive because there are to be no other Jack Johnson Australian shows on this tour.

Witness Jack Johnson’s only Australian performance at Bluesfest between April 1- 5. Tickets are on sale now.

Matt Costa is coming too, i hope he does a show in Melbourne (i'm assuming he will). that guy is awesome.

jack johnson is way awesomer than crowded house. i wish he'd do other shows in oz as well :(
if bluesfest had michael frant in it as well, i'd be there!

jack johnson doesn't play the blues. i'm not sure how he can headline a blues festival. you can see him and similar acts at mainstream festivals. maybe buddy guy can teach jack some licks backstage before his show....

so JJ was the MASSIVE GLOBAL ANNOUNCEMENT that the organisers had plugged. everyone on the forums were thinking carole king and james taylor, bruce etc etc. then this. they vented, and the organisers locked the forums and deleted comments. go bluesfest. but they need these sorts of headliners, it's been two or three years since it sold out

the best news of the day is that gogol bordello are playing 2 sets at bluesfest, sunday and monday, so there is no need to buy any more than a 3 day pass.
