The End of Ric's?

Rumours have been rife for over a week about the sale of Ric’s Bar, and today the new owners released an official statement on the venue’s future.

The Pullos Group – who own RGs and Bank Vault Lounge have purchased the Mayfair of Fortitude Valley’s Monopoly board, Ric’s Bar and Fat Boys Cafe. The iconic free music venue will change hands as of Monday 23 November, with new owner Les Pullos pledging Ric’s will continue to support emerging and established local and touring acts.

The Fat Boy’s $4 breakfast will stay on the menu, but the outdoor dining will be joined with RGs and the band room and bar will be redesigned.

Band bookings can be made via email at bookings@ricsbar.com.au. Ciel Fuller, who was Festival Director for Valley Fiesta 2009 has come on board as the new venue booker.
Rics has been integral in promoting the local scene, providing the platform for bands in recent years such as The Grates and The John Steel Singers, while also hosting many the after party and even international appearances a la Yeah Yeah Yeahs DJs.
