It’s Perth. Most people complain that there’s nothing to do on a good day. So spare a thought for those who are under the age of 18 and not seen by the law as “mature enough” to go to all the great shows you get to see. With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of all ages friendly shows in various ranges of all age-ness (some require 15+ so please check). Anyone who can find a way down the handy new highway are encouraged to check out MAX Youth Festival in Bunbury, headlined by Karnivool and WA’s best local talent. Also, don’t forget to check out Gozzy Rock again this year to see which local original band will take out the major prize.

ARTillery Festival “Boot Camp” 19th Nov @ HQ, Leederville (The Jackards, Wing-It, Stunning In Red and Last In Line)
Rotto Leavers 2009 24-26 Nov @ Rottnest Island Cricket Oval, Rottnest (The Bullet Holes, Brow Horn Orchestra, The Chemists, Fools Rush In, Sugar Army)
Margies Culture Fest 12th Dec @ Skate Park/ zone room, Margaret River (Veeva Feeva +more)
MAX Youth Festival 12th Dec @ Bicentennial Square, Bunbury (Karnivool, Downsyde, The Novocaines, We Are The Emergency + more)
Southbound 8-10 Jan @ Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Bussleton (camping 18+) (Yeah Yeah Yeahs,
Hilltop Hoods, Grizzly Bear, Sarah Blasko, Midnight Juggernauts…)
Gozzy Rock 21 Feb @ Pioneer Park Amphitheatre, Gosnells. Acts TBA.
Sound Burst Festival 24th Jan @ Point Walter (Red Riders, Harlequin League, Kill Teen Angst, The Novocaines, Project Mayhem, 7 years + more)
Big Day Out 31st Jan @ Claremont Showgrounds (Muse, Eskimo Joe, Grinspoon, The Mars Volta, Tame Impala…)
Soundwave 1st Mar @ Blue Steel Oval, Bassendean (Faith No More, Janes Addiction, Placebo, AFI…)
West Coast Blues and Roots Festival 28th Mar (Crowded House, John Butler Trio, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Newton Fawkner) You must be accompanied by a parent for this one.

The Fly By Night in Fremantle is also family friendly and will allow underage patrons to enter with a legal guardian, City of Melville’s YAC it Up has several events planned next year, and if Rock It returns for 2010 it too will be all ages.

That’s it for now, but we’ll keep you posted as more are announced. Head over to our All Ages Perth group page and join up to stay in the loop, and if you’re keen to become a contributor, we’re looking for underage photographers and gig reviewers to join the team as well.
