The return of Dinosaur Jr to Australia in March 2010 is a tour worth rejoicing about. Now the icons of stoner-rock have announced a string of headline shows around their appearances at The Lost Weekend and Golden Plains festivals.

After giving us the wonderful Beyond in 2007, Dinosaur Jr. followed it with Farm earlier this year. “They meld dissonance with melody, doing bruised beauty better than anyone else,” wrote our reviewer. “Extinction is a long way from the minds of J, Lou and Murph.” As fans will know from the 2007 reunion tour, the trio’s live show remains untouchable.

Dinosaur Jr. play these shows in March 2010. Tickets for all club shows go on sale 30 November.

Thursday March 4 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Saturday March 6 – Golden Plains Festival, Meredith
Sunday March 7 – The Lost Weekend Festival, Brisbane
Wednesday March 10 – Great Northern Hotel, Byron Bay
Thursday March 11 – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Friday March 12 – Rosemount Hotel, Perth
Saturday March 13 – Fowlers Live, Adelaide
Sunday March 14 – Moorilla, Hobart

Was a great show last night, but it wasn't LOUD AS FUCK like last time. Still, it was deeply cool - Dinosaur Jr are still one of the planets top acts.

This is True, Plus Mascis was going insane on that guitar of his, to watch his handiwork up close was indeed a joy. Sure they were rather stoic in their performance for the most part, Mind you the drummer and bass player got jiggy with it at one stage, I still have to say Mascis' solos were massive.
