Soundwave headliners and post-hardcore heroes AFI will be playing sideshows in both Melbourne and Sydney whilst in town next February.
Led by the effervescent Davey Havok, AFI has released eight studio albums since their formation in 1991. The band’s most recent LP Crash Love has seen them dabble in a poppier sound whilst maintaining the brutal force of their earliest releases.
Named one of Spin Magazine’s – œ25 Greatest Live Acts Of All Time’, AFI last toured Australia in 2006 supporting their smash album Decemberunderground – a tour which led our FL reviewer to describe the band as “infectiously dazzling…one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen”.
If that is not enough bang for your buck, apocalyptic punks Gallows, who are also scheduled to play Soundwave, will be supporting AFI at both shows. For fans that held on to their Gallows tickets from their previously postponed September tour your tickets are valid for both sideshows! It’s time to get your crazy on kids.
You can catch AFI and Gallows at theses show:
Tuesday 23 February – Luna Park Big Top, Sydney (Licensed All Ages)
Wednesday 24 February – Festival Hall, Melbourne (Licensed and Unlicensed areas)
Tickets on sale Friday 4th December from 9am.
