Indie-folk charmers The Dodos return to Australia in February 2010, bringing songs from new album Time To Die. The San Fran collective was a quiet achiever of last year’s Falls Festival, with a couple of small club shows on the side.
Time To Die continues The Dodos’ fine run of records, introducing new instruments and textures to the mix. The album was overseen by indie go-to-guy Phil Ek – whose past credits include Built to Spill, Modest Mouse and Fleet Foxes – and his finesse shines through.
The live show is where a lot of The Dodos magic happens – with tin drums, xylophones, foot tambourines and now a vibraphone in their arsenal.
The Dodos play these three shows in February. Tickets on sale Friday 27 November.
Friday February 12 – East Brunswick Club, Melbourne
Saturday February 13 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
Sunday February 14 – The Zoo, Brisbane
