Bloc Party DJ show cancelled

Brisbane New Years Day festival BBQ Beats has been cancelled, which means that Bloc Party DJ set is no longer. Back in October, we speculated on which band member would be making the trip down under for the gig.

A statement from the festival promoters reads: “With striving to create a boutique, unique event for Brisbane audiences, there are several risks associated in relation to coordinating BBQ Beats. These risks are now not within a manageable scope for the event.”

Apparently some alternative shows are being planned, so watch this space. Chances of any full band gigs from Bloc Party in January seem like a distant hope, particularly with frontman Kele Okereke getting on with his solo album.
