Summer Tones 2010

Summer Tones 2010 brings another delectable Mistletone-curated collection to Melbourne’s grateful punters with an eclectic mix of local and international acts on Saturday 16 January at the Corner.
Bringing their slow and hazy psychedelic jams to Australia for the first time New Mexico’s Brightblack Morning Light head the bill alongside Rowland S Howard and his “Melbourne mafia A-team band” playing old classics and gems from his new album Pop Crimes. San Francisco’s Kelley Stoltz also has an all star band, with Mikey Young (Eddy Current, Brain Children), Mark Nelson (The Stabs, Miniature Submarines) and Steph Hughes (Dick Diver), joining him on his pop rock odyssey.
Expect “three eccentric vocalists, a body painted punk dancer, a macho man with a saw in his hand and a drug queen psychedelic guitarist, and twin violins” with ten piece Japanese “brutal orchestra” Vampillia and an array of delights from Mississippi’s Dent May and his Magnificent Ukulele (also first time tourists), Beaches, Kes Band Trio, Curse Ov Dialect, royalchord, Darren Sylvester, Ivy St, Parking Lot Experiments, Love Connection, Pop Singles, Denim Owl (Janita and Aleks from Aleks & the Ramps) and Patinka Cha Cha.
