My Chemical Romance Sidewave

My Chemical Romance is set to make their ostentatious return to Australia this coming February as one of the headliners for Soundwave 2010. To satisfy their hoards of black- clad followers, Gerard Way and his men have just announced they will also be playing one very special club show in Sydney whilst they are here.

It has been two years since the band braved the Aussie sun and over a year since they packed away their – œBlack Parade’ alter egos in favour of a – œback to basics’ punk-rock performance. Currently working on their fourth album fans are in for a treat when My Chem brings their new show to our shores.

FasterLouder is proud to present My Chemical Romance supported by The Get Up Kids:

Seriously guys, there's going to be a war between the fans.
And if the show sells out in 5 minutes The Get Up Kids fans are going to look for MCR kids to beat down.
Worse Sidewave ever, despite one of those band (TGUK) being the best band ever!

probably having james dewees playing in both bands is the reason they are playing together. i think the bands get on well but the fans are different.

I can't comment on their live performance, but On Letting Go is a very good album.

From what i remember, the singer's voice got swallowed up by the sound of their instruments. And his voice when you could hear it was kinda painful to listen to, so high and nasally.

Gig that takes the cake for ill-fitting support act - U2 w/ Kanye West
Haven't seen anything that tops that.

Yes Saimagizzle that was true, i remember her being particularly awful, and The Police being particularly awesome minus a few sound/video issues.
That one would win over Kanye.

Also, for anyone that cares, Clutch are playing a sideshow in Brisbane the night before soundwave. Check oztix for details.

sydney last time had tickets on the night and that was at the hordern i think i doubt it'll sell out that quick. Tyler you can't comment on circa being bad when you actually paid for mcr.

not that i would be going to this as i can see then at soundwave. why would they be doing only one sideshow in sydney, where soundwave isnt sold out, but not in melbourne where it is?

mcr played a show with circa survive and the getaway plan, probably about 2 years ago? i thought it was the shittiest choice of supports, these guys were basically crapping their pants on stage,pretty funny stuff to watch, on top of it the sound guys didn't do too well with the sound...mcr were good though, they can get a crowd going

mcr are my favourite band- they need 2 come 2 brisbane i cant go 2 soundwave and saw them in 06 and they were amazing

circa survive did their own headlining show at the metro that tour, and there was fuck all people there, they had the black curtains closing off the standing area.... and as much as i was keen to see them they weren't that great.

highlight of that show was the support act, the nation blue! he played his guitar with a rake in one song... a rake!!!
