The Australasian World Music Expo (AWME) will take place in Melbourne from 19-22 November.

AWME is a showcase of Indigenous, roots and world music and industry conference which brings together musicians and industry representatives from across Australia and around the globe for three days of “world music”.

The opening night party on Thursday 19 November at the HiFi stars the mind-altering 10-piece dub of The Red Eyes with live mixing from the legendary Mad Professor. They’re joined by The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, South Africa’s Tumi, Dubmarine and DJ’s Kartick and Gotam.

On Saturday 21 November Blue King Brown are joined at the HiFi by Toguna from the Reunion Islands and their fusion of folk rock, reggae and acoustic soul, using instruments such as the slide guitar, kayamb and rouler.

Closing the expo on Sunday 22 November True Live [pictured], San Lazaro and Grace Barbé from the Seychelles will head the bill at the HiFi.
