Announced as part of the Sydney Festival 2010 line-up, grandiose pop masters Camera Obscura will visit Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane too. This is the Glaswegian outfit’s second visit to our corner of the world, following a shimmering run with Laneway Festival in 2006.
Anchored on the velvet voice of Traceyanne Campbell, Camera Obscura released its fourth album, My Maudlin Career, earlier this year. Listening to the record, it’s easy to get enthused for the warm and fuzzy show that awaits us in January.
Adding some extra spark to each show will be Sheffield folk duo Slow Club, whose recent album Yeah So is a sleeper hit of 2009.
Camera Obscura play these shows in January with Slow Club. Beck’s Festival Bar tickets on sale now; all other dates on sale Monday 16 November.
Thursday January 21 – Popfrenzy at Beck’s Festival Bar, Sydney Festival
Friday January 22 – The Zoo, Brisbane
Saturday January 23 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Monday January 25 – Amplifier, Perth
