The Handsome Family make their way from New Mexico for a series of Australian dates in January.

Acclaimed by rock guru Greil Marcus as “The Beatles of folk music”, the husband-and-wife duo of Brett and Rennie Sparks celebrated 14 years of recording together and 20 years of marriage in 2009 with the release of their eighth studio album Honey Moon.

Beside Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker, Antony and Rufus Wainwright, the Handsome Family starred in the Leonard Cohen tribute “Came So Far For Beauty” at the Sydney Festival in 2005 and are now set to dazzle Australian punters again with their odes to sex, devotion, redemption, sacrifice, New Mexico and more sex .

Wednesday 13 January – Prince Bandroom, Melbourne
Thursday 14 January – The Famous Spiegeltent, Sydney Festival
