Queensland’s newest festival The Lost Weekend has announced a very impressive first round of acts for its inaugural event.

Already confirmed to be playing Golden Plains this March, Dinosaur Jnr and Dirty Projectors will be headlining the inaugural Lost Weekend. Working the feedback alongside DJ will be the prince of psych Anton Newcombe and his Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Said to be Queensland’s own Golden Plains, the camping festival will take place from March 6 -7 at the Ivory Rock Convention centre, which is located in the Gold Coast Hinterland’s Peak Crossing. the lost weekend festival news vol 2

after coming from nowhere with a new festival which has people talking the lost weekend has a lot more to offer then a bunch of bands and somewhere to place your head to rest at night.

if you buy your tickets by friday 11th dec you will go into to the draw to win an ultimate camp site. you will be given the best spot fenced off with a 6 room tent with 4 double beds and your own porta loo. each person staying will still need their ticket to get in but you will be treated like a star with this site set up and waiting for you when you arrive.
also if you buy your ticket to a particular camping area in 2010 you will have 1st right to buy those tickets again in 2011. so for as long as you want to you can come and stay in the same area each year. no more missing out because a festival has become popular.

we are very excited to announce the oto (we are told means noise in japanese) stage which is being programmed by lawrence english (room 40) and will feature some of the best experimental acts from around the world including deerhoof (usa/japan), oneone (japan), tenniscoats (japan), lucas abela (syd) and local group no anchor. with many more still to be announced the oto is for the open minded only.

there have been a lot of local bands asking how they can get on the bill. well there will be a chance for bands to pitch for this. we will be giving preference to local bands who are subscribers to 4zzzfm. also when people buy tickets we are adding a questionnaire were we will ask people who they are coming to see and which local bands we should add to the bill. so if you or your friends are already going make sure they put you down.
for now, it’s time to get lost.
