Kicking sand in the eyes of the Pommy backpackers who plague the St Kilda foreshore each summer, Sandcastles replaces pasty tourists with pasty indie kids on Saturday 9 January 2010.
Headlining the bill are this summer’s favourite deadbeats and chill-wave heroes Neon Indian who bring their blogosphere and Pitchfork approved Psychic Chasms album to the festival for their only Melbourne gig.
They’re joined by East London’s Micachu and The Shapes touring their debut album, Jewellery, produced by electronic iconoclast Matthew Herbert; the minimalist assault of My Disco; the gorgeous pop sounds of Crayon Fields; and a fleet of DJs headed by the gang from Architecture in Helsinki.
The festival runs from Midday till 9.00 pm on St Kilda beach right next to the sea baths.
