Since its inception in 2007 Golden Plains (the over-achieving little sister of the Meredith Music Festival) has well and truly marked its territory on the Australian festival landscape. Not only has GP dominated the Festival Awards by taking out – œAustralia’s Favoutrite Festival’ two years running, it has managed to produce successively better line-ups each year.
On that note, we present you with Golden Plains 2010.
Joining the already confirmed Pavement in March next year will be elder-statesmen of stoner rock, Dinosaur Jr. Led by recently re-united buddies J Mascis and Lou Barlow, the children of the amphitheatre are sure in for a treat as the band bring the delights of their most recent record, Farm, dowunder for the first time.
Sidling up next to Lou will be Americana alt-country legends Calexico, the – œnebulous wonderland’ of noise that is the Dirty Projectors and the band that brought us the genre shoe-gum The Big Pink.
Doing it for the locals are the rarely seen Cruel Sea, Melbourne’s devine Super Wild Horses and psychedelic darlings Tame Impala.
