The Arts Centre hosts “AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels” celebrating the history, music, performances and creativity of one of the world’s greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll bands.

Presented in association with Albert Music and Sony Music the exhibition will include important costumes, instruments, stage props, photographs and rare hand-written material such as letters, notebooks and lyrics. There will also be films of interviews, video clips and rarely seen performance footage, as well as published tour ephemera including exceptional early concert posters, programmes, backstage passes and other AC/DC collectibles.

The exhibition’s curator Tim Fisher says: “There is little doubt that after 35 years on the world stage AC/DC are by far Australia’s most successful and influential performing artists. AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels seeks to link the material history of the band to the experience of their music. The exhibition will also try to convey – both through exhibited material and an interactive online initiative – the place that AC/DC holds for their devoted fans.”

AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels runs at the Arts Centre, Gallery 1 from 7 November 2009 until 28 February 2010.
