WAM song of the year awards were held on the weekend, and the winners are in.
The grand prize was taken by Umpire for their song Streamers. The band took away $5000 in cash, a publishing deal with Shock, a recording package and 500 CD run. You can have a listen to it here
The prize was awarded by the minister for mental health, Hon. Dr Graham Jacobs MLA. Whilst introducing the new Mentally Healthy category, The Minister discussed the importance of music in the prevention and treatment of mental health issues before awarding the prize to Black Bored Minds for their track I’m not Scared
