Birmingham moodists Editors will play a pair of theatre shows in January between their appearances at Falls Festival and Southbound. The quartet is poised to release its third album In This Light And On This Evening on 9 October, bulking up their set-list for the summer expedition.

As we reported back in July, the new record is set to be a departure from An End Has a Start. “Most of it was recorded live even though it’s a lot more electronic,” frontman Tom Smith hinted to BBC. Our last encounter with Editors was at Splendour In The Grass 2007, so the time is ripe for another round of propulsive indie-rock.
