Two of the brightest sparks of 2009 – Cloud Control and Leader Cheetah – will head out together in November on the – œEast Coast Smackdown Tour’. The jaunt comes after a busy year for both bands, with plenty more prospects ahead.

Cloud Control has a new single Gold Canary to put through its live paces, following on from the alt-pop highs of Death Cloud. You can download Gold Canary for free right here. The Blue Mountains troupe will release a debut album on Ivy League Records in early-2010, so expect a smattering of future delights.

After a much-praised afternoon set at Splendour In The Grass, Leader Cheetah will no doubt relish these more intimate shows. The co-headline tour will be the Adelaide quartet’s last for the year before heading to the studio to follow up the Sunspot Letters.

The – œEast Coast Smackdown Tour’ stops into the following venues, with special guests in each state. Tickets on sale Tuesday 6 October.
