WAM Song of the Year 2009Nominees Announced

Voting for the 2009 WAM Song of the Year is now open from September 21 to noon October 7. To vote for Most Popular Song, head over to perthnow.com.au
There are 80 nominees over 16 categories that reflect a wonderful mix of emerging and established local talent alongside a variety of newcomers. The list of nominees includes Abbe May (Hoodoo You Do), Black Board Minds (I’m Not Scared), Jade Masters – Yabu Band (Healing Our Culture), Johannes Leubbers (Eternity), Sneaky Weasel Gang (Visionary), The Preytells (Lord Hold My Hand) Felicity Groom (2722.66km) and Sugar Army (Acute).
Fans of WA music can listen to all of the nominees and find out about each artist, and vote for their favourite in each category on perthnow.com.au The winning song that receives the most votes will win $1000 cash.
The 2009 WAM Song of the Year winners (Most Popular Song as well as category winners and the Grand Prize winner) will be announced at a presentation ceremony at the Fly By Night on October 8, hosted by Johnny Young. Tickets are available from WAM or from Fly By Night at $20 regular admission or $15 concession (plus booking fee), or $25 on the door if available.
