Custard re-forms for birthdaybash

Happy Birthday Queensland! The sunshine state turns 150 on December 10 this year and to celebrate Riverstage will play host to a huge bash of homegrown music talent.
Local stalwarts Powderfinger are set to curate the show, supported by none other than – œ90s indie rock icons Custard, who will re-form for the one-off occasion. The band was featured in FasterLouder’s 15 Aussie Bands We Want Back, so now we can mark one off the list. Yves Klein Blue, The Cairos and The Middle East have also been booked.
A $25 ticket will also get you a copy of Powderfinger’s new album, Golden Rule.
“What better way to celebrate this historic occasion than with our own line-up of homegrown talent,” was the reaction of Premier Anna Bligh. “It’s the perfect birthday present for the people of Queensland.” In case you were wondering, the – œFinger is apparently a fixture on Anna’s iPod, but she’s a little shaky on Custard. There’s still time.
