Following on from the release of their debut album, the Monsters Of Folk have suggested touring Australia would be on their agenda early next year.

The promising hint has come courtesy of My Morning Jacket singer Jim James, who is trying to encourage Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and She & Him’s Matt Ward to follow him down under this summer.

“We really want to get over there,” James told triple j this week. “We’re just trying to figure out the whole Big Day Out thing, just whether that’s going to happen or not so hopefully it will. I think we’ve all had nothing but great times in Australia so it’ll be great to bring the Monsters there.”

The Monsters Of Folk record – featured in our 30 Most Anticipated Albums – was released last Friday and will be reviewed on FL this week.
