Straight-outta-Compton, Pour Habit have announced sideshows to compliment their support of the NOFX/Bad Religion Australian tour in late September. The five piece signed to Fat Wreck Chords, owned by Fat Mike, after Strung Out drummer Jordan Burns convinced the NOFX frontman to attend a Pour Habit show. Blown away by their energetic live shows, NOFX insisted Pour Habit support the Australian leg of their tour.
Earlier this year, Pour Habit released their debut album Suiticide, which vocalist Chuck says is a culmination of influences from the grittiness of Pantera and simple three-chord Green Day pop to crazy Meshuggah wannabe songs. “Trying to find that in-between,” says drummer Colin, “we realised…let’s do whatever we can do and if it rocks, it rocks”.
Intimate venues, cheap covers and the chance to spot members of Bad Religion and NOFX spending their days off slumped over the bar should make for some exciting Pour Habit sideshows.
Pour Habit sideshows include:
Tuesday 22nd September – Arthouse, Melbourne
Friday 25th September – Syke! Adelaide
Thursday 1st October – Hermann’s, Sydney Uni
