Falls Festival second line-up

The 2009 Falls Music & Arts Festival has grown once again, with the next lot of acts unveiled. Lorne is long sold-out and Marion Bay isn’t far behind, but Falls has delivered on its promise of more big talent all the same.

Heading up part two of the line-up are party-hardy Norwegians Datarock and UK ruffian Jamie T, who won’t be staying away for long after his headline shows this month. The new-look Wolfmother will ensure it’s a cosmic New Years Eve, with fellow festival stars Little Red, Dappled Cities and Bertie Blackman also joining the party.

The new additions in Marion Bay differ slightly from Lorne, so check out the rundown below.

So it was always rubbish that we'd get the Passion Pit/XX/Dirty Projectors/Bat For Lashes - after all BDO, Laneway and Golden Plains have to have booked some of them - but fucken Datarock, really?! Why is this novelty act allowed back in the county every six months?

I'm happy with Dappled Cities at least.

its not too bad. datarock is fun and falls is about fun. you rarely get great musical performances at festivals compared to solo shows. also there are a few additions that are good laying in the sun (hopefully) chilliing additions.

Looks like The Phenomenal Handclap Band will be added as well - they're playing with Charlift at the Corner on the 2nd.

I could probably find this info on the official site somewhere, but I figure some of you may know from experience.

What's the deal with New Years Day? What time do we have to leave the camp site by? Can we stay an extra night in order to sober and rest up for the long drive home?

(Going to Lorne btw).

no you can't stay an extra night - you have to clear out by about 4 or 5 i think but most ppl try to get out as early as possible so unless you leave at about 6am you will be stuck in a 1 or 2 hour long queue just to get to lorne - it's a bitch. my suggestion is to designate a driver and stop drinking at about midnight or so - they provide breathalyzers there though if you want to test yourself.

I dunno i reckon you might be able to stay an extra night.. we slept all day new years day and left at 6:30pm and was not told by anyone to leave.. There were a few other tents still there when we left but hardly any.. but yeh if you wanted to sleep an extra night and just said sorry we're all too fucked to drive i reckon they wouldn't care

From memory it was around 6pm last year, but they don't have anyone forcing you to leave. Unless you have parked right next to the road, don't expect to be able to move your car until about 10:30-11am. Expect to drive over a lot of left-over shit too.
