Big Day Out denies Limp Bizkit

Sorry Nookie fans, but you won’t be rollin’ with Fred Durst at Big Day Out 2010. The festival’s co-producer Vivian Lees today told Victoria’s Herald Sun (yes, the paper that made the claim in the first place) there’s no place for Limp Bizkit on the bill.

Lees’ statement reads: “Limp Bizkit will definitely not be performing on the January 2010 Big Day Out series, or any other Big Day Out shows anywhere, ever.”

Such a definitive – œno deal’ to The Herald Sun’s – œofficial’ rumour of last week hasn’t stopped them speculating. The article goes on to add: “Far less repellent BDO whispers for the event include Radiohead, Lily Allen, Bat For Lashes, Dizzee Rascal, Passion Pit and David Bowie.” Those pesky whispers just keep getting more realistic…

Well, Durst is gonna have to learn to read so he can learn to write so he can email them both to let them know.

So methinks itll be a while, probably not till well after the event has taken place.

I surely wasnt. I skipped BDO that year because I didnt have anyone to go with. Only to find out later that my brother, who was a big LB fan, also skipped it because he didnt have anyone to go with.

If previous years are anything to go by, it's likely Melbourne would have BDO on Tuesday 26th January.

I'd guess Sydney will be on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd, or Sunday 24th.

hasnt Sydney traditionally had the concert on Australia day? With Brisbane the Sunday before, and Melbourne the weekend after?

Yeah, that used to be the case until the 2005 Cronulla Riots.

From 2006 onwards, BDO in Sydney was moved away from Australia Day to try and lessen the 'patriotic' fervour at BDO. Melbourne has had their BDO on Australia Day from 2006 onwards.
