As with many other powerful initiatives, this one started with a mother. After losing her 2 year old son Nicholas to cancer, Lisa Johns was inspired to form a band of mothers who shared her dream to help other families who were leaning on the PMH foundation, and to raise money for the cause. Lisa’s band: Muthaz is among the support acts playing at the Fly By Night this weekend.
Being a huge Choirboys fan, Lisa approached Mark Gable from the band and he was so moved by her story that he convinced the rest of the band to come to WA and do a gig in support of their cause.
Other bands scheduled to appear are the two dream-team brother based gigs (with one best friend): Homebrewe and Stella’s Kitchen who have both had an exciting spring so far; Stella’s Kitchen with their EP-launch, and upcoming single launch, and Homebrewe with a national distribution deal and single launch, with an album coming up.
Summed up, Saturday will not only be about rockin’ it for life (which is the very suitable title of the event) but also about taking a gander at WA’s young and hopeful, and a trip down memory lane with Choirboys.
