Festival Awards return for2009

Almost a full 12 months of stellar festivalling has passed since the inaugural Festival Awards, and it’s time to get voting again. This year’s Awards will see even more competition join the race to find Australia’s favourite frolic.

Once again, the categories include Line Up, Sound and Production, Management and Facilities, Venue & Location, Crowd and Atmosphere, Value for Money, Green Friendly, Best Local Festival Act and Best International Festival Act.

The highest honour – Best Overall Festival – was last year bestowed upon Victoria’s mythical romp at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, Golden Plains Festival. Accepting the Award, – œAunty Meredith’ summed up what it’s all about: “It was so very very lovely to have an award voted for by the people that matter for once – the ones up the front”.

The 2009 Festival Awards are giving you – “the ones up the front” – a chance to win $1000 to spend on festival tickets. All you have to do is cast a vote at the Festival Awards website and make your love felt. VOTING IS NOW OPEN!

Award winners will be announced at an event in Sydney on 15 October.
