THE 2010 LINE-UP HAS FINALLY LANDED! CHECK IT OUT HERE.

With the summer festival announcements coming thick and fast, a question mark still hovers over the biggest one of all. The first round of acts for Big Day Out 2010 should arrive late next month, but we’ve decided to get in the speculating spirit early.

On this day last year, we threw some of our line-up predictions into the ring to see what stuck. Some of our bets came good, while others are still in the – œpending’ pile.

Having kept our ear to the ground and clicking finger active, FasterLouder is once again entering the fray with our odds for 2010. Check out our LINE-UP PREDICTIONS FEATURED GALLERY for who we’re backing in this summer’s race.

Seems fairly definitive... I wouldn't hold your breath for any more Blur shows.

Lets get one thing straight. Lees and West would NEVER get anyone like Linkin Park at BDO.. judging by their comments last year about having bands that people "should be listening to" rather than "what they are being told to listen to" or something like that.

Mastodon fits perfectly for the Metal slot, although they would be better smaller stage playing a longer than 45 min set...

imagine them and TMV back to back....

Remember when Mike Patton said Faith No More would never reunite?
Besides, Graham Coxon has said that they are considering more shows abroad. You could hedge a bet either way. So maybe look into researching what definitive actually means...

it'd be awesome if it happened, but i don't think No Doubt will play. actually i hope they don't, it'd be hard to fit in going to a few interstate Placebo shows + following ND everywhere (although i'd obviously choose ND over Placebo).

I wasn't living in this country when he was here, although I know he played at the Prince Bandroom, with Luke I think....? Six months after I left Ireland he played at the Oxegen festival there. So basically, I've just missed out on seeing him twice...on opposite sides of the planet. It's bollocks.

not that there's anything wrong with muse, but if that's the headliner, then bdo have lost the cool wars to soundwave. duo of massive attack and aphex twin could be the ace in the sleeve.

i have not changed it since splendour and i am going to soundwave. muse are great origin of symatery is one of the best albums ever imo.

i reckon you would have better odds on the living end and the hilltop hoods. australian festival bands are the most middle of the road crap i have ever heard. one thing i will say for powderfinger (who i loathe beyond comprehension) is that they haven't abused the festival scene for a long while which is a good thing.

i think blur will either do their own shows or play at v, and massive attack will play either their own show or at good vibes. i hope they play the latter that festival is going under with amount banal fluro wearing crap that knobs like calvin harris and simian mobile disco bring. who would be up for a dubstep and low-slung beats festival?

after last years lame line up, i am surprised the bets aren't on celene dion and the bee gees minus 1. triple j have really gone safe commercial mainstream in recent years, time to let one out of the box! otherwise it's like last year, save your $120 and go to one great show rather than a massive line up with mainly shite.

-placebo...trust me on that one
-blink 182, they have apparently been offered to play but haven't said anything yet.
-muse, have said that they will most likely come here over the summer, but havent said confirmed or denied if they are doing another bdo.
-lily allen, this chick has done every other festival this year and said when she played in melbourne this year that she wanted to comeback over the summer for one of the festivals.
-jet, have done bdo before, they have an album out, why not.
-grinspoon, similar case to jet.
-kasabian, i don't have much reasoning.
-the vampire weekend, have been getting more and more popular here and have absolutely shredded at other festivals.
and i wouldn't be suprised if the white stripes, or one of jack white's bands played.

also in complete hope, i've heard inside word that paul mccartney is coming to australia, don't hold me to that though and i doubt that organises could afford him.
for some reason bowie's name keeps popping up, i doubt this, he hasn't played in 5 years. here's hoping though.
and lastly bob dylan, another hopeful, he has been touring around america for a while and has the summer free...you never know.

having said all this rumours aren't usually very accurate and have a low hit rate. but fingers crossed we get some jems this year.

I think the thing to keep in mind is that BDO got burned this year by getting Neil Young (in the eyes and ears of people with taste it was an awesome choice,but to the bogan majority who make up most of BDO crowd?).
That means that BDO 2010 is going to be devoid of anything near as interest and will go with the safest crowd-pulling choices possible.

Blink 182/Muse/Placebo triple header is almost certainly happening.

if massive attack got on the linup i would be there in 2 seconds..

would also consider going to see florence and the machine if they were playing..

man i get sick of hearing people saying this years was a fiasco/disappointing/boring etc.
i had the best time at a BDO in yonks, i was able to catch eddy current, TVOTR, my morning jacket, a smattering of cog and then inside the D for neil young's awesome set.
to top it off the bogan contingent was way down and those that were there were off in the boiler room or catching some massively hyped/soon to be forgotten group.
i know opinions are like arseholes but more lineups like these would be great.
we have enough in the way of other festivals like parklife,good vibes etc now to cater for the shirtless masses that arent really there (let's be honest) for the music.

That is rubbish.

They are without doubt one of the biggest electronic acts of the last 20 years and have had a massive impact on dance music in general.

That has not come off the back of one album.
