Lightning Bolt tour
Tue 25th Aug, 2009 in Local News
Noise rockers Lightning Bolt are set to destroy eardrums and minds when they tour Australia this November.
They’ll give Australian audiences a chance to discover why Pitchfork drools over their live shows, describing them as – œatomic blasts of crystalline fury that send shards of feedback and blistering distortion into anyone who dares witness such savagery in the flesh’.
The duo of Brian Chippendale on drums and vocals and Brian Gibson on bass guitar are known for their guerrilla-style live performances, where they typically play on the ground rather than a stage, with the crowd gathered around them.
Though they haven’t released an album since 2005’s Hypermagic Mountain they recently announced that the long awaited follow up, Earthly Delights, is due for release in October.
Lightning Bolt will be joined by the Primitive Calculators and Grey Daturas on tour. They’re also set to play at a – œMini festival’ featuring 15 bands at Melbourne’s Trades Hall
