The tremendously talented Liam Finn and partner in crime Eliza-Jane Barnes have recently put the finishing touches on their EP Champagne in Seashells. FasterLouder have been lucky enough to get our hands on the first track from the release to giveaway for free.

Plane Crash cements Finn and Barnes’ evolution from touring partners to collaborative songwriters. It is a sweetly dark tune which culminates in an explosion of psychedelic noise, displaying Finn’s penchant for making a guitar sound like anything but a guitar.

In an interview with FL, Liam revealed that the concept for Plane Crash was drawn from the anxiety which tends to develop after being on the road for long periods of time. The story told in the song relays a lucid dream that Finn experienced mid-flight; a dream which invoked a childhood memory of traveling with his parents and hoping that airhostesses would serve him champagne rather than orange juice.
