Dream Theater to return inDecember
Fri 14th Aug, 2009 in Local News
Hot off the heals of their latest release Black Clouds and Silver Linings, Dream Theater have announced they will return down under this December, bringing with them their unique brand of over-the-top instrumentally technical progressive rock.
The five-piece formed over two decades ago by original founding members John Myung, John Petrucci, and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, and last played to sell-out crowds across the country early last year on their first ever tour of Australia.
While remaining an underground band for most of their career with pockets of dedicated followers around the world, the band’s recently released tenth studio album Black Clouds and Silver Linings entered the US Billboard charts at #6, finally providing the talented musicians with much deserved commercial recognition.
Dream Theater will hit major capital cities around the country fresh from a three month world tour in support of ‘Progressive Nation 2009’ alongside prog heavyweights Opeth – fingers crossed the Swedish lads will also make a stop here sometime soon.
